Life
By Susan D.
Life is like a shimmering pool.
Sometimes the water is murky,
When dirt is stirred,
From the very bottom.
Rarely the pond is clear!
Some test the water,
And others jump right in!
Once immersed there is nothing else
To focus on except the wonders held
Underneath the surface.
Suddenly, a shark glides by.
Danger is hidden everywhere.
Good and bad in the pool of life.
My Yellow Room
By Susan D.
I threw the windows wide open, letting the light in and hoping that it might stay for awhile. Sunlight glinted off the bright yellow walls, making the room glow, all shadows moving when the sun did. A sweet breeze blew through the open space, leaving thoughts of the summer air in my head. The bolted doors that held all my creative energy unlocked and slowly opened. A symphony of thoughts flowed freely through my mind, making the panorama of my day change completely. I sat down at my piano and began to play. The music flew effortlessly from my fingers, and it finally felt like I could breathe again. Then I knew I was home.
